Thanksgiving Feast

Molly Kate had her Thanksgiving Feast at school today. Her class made and wore pilgrim costumes and the 4-year olds were indians. They all looked so cute and of course, Molly Kate sang her heart out on the front row! After singing to all of the families there, the kids got to sit at their places and have an untraditional Thanksgiving dinner. The teachers said that in years past, they have thrown away so many sweet potato casseroles, mac and cheese, etc. that this year they served turkey, grapes, popcorn, and cookies. The kids seemed to appreciate this type of fare a little more and had a great time. We were so proud of Molly Kate and she was especially proud that Anna got to come and see her friends at school. She introduced them to her and smiled from ear to ear!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone - we are all so very blessed!

Ready, Set, Crawl!!

Look out Molly Kate - hide all of your toys!!!

Anna is offiicially on the go now. There is no more containing her on the blanket in the den - she is off and running, scooting all over the floor and getting into EVERYthing! She is like the Tasmanian Devil blowing thru the Little People sets and quickly figured out how to open Molly Kate's cash register and eat the money inside. She even pulls off the pads that have been on the fireplace hearth since MK was a baby. Funny thing...Molly Kate never really bothered them. Might have a live one on my hands this time!

You would think that crawling would be enough for a almost 8 month old, but no! Anna pulls up on everything and even takes steps when she holds onto your hands, grinning with pride the entire time. She thinks she is just as big as her sister! I am posting a few of the pictures for you to get a glimpse of the crawl sequence as well as one of my and Eric's favorites right before she capsized the Mayflower with Eric shouting for the pilgrim Little People to "abandon ship - hurricane a coming!" Life in our house is never boring and seems to be getting busier each day!

They've Got Personality!

Here are a couple of pictures that I love and had to post to show you how full of life, personality and energy my girls are! They always make people smile wherever we go. Molly Kate is sporting the "Chef'r" hat that Daddy brought her from when he and his co-workers got to go cook with Culinard (I'm jealous!). MK loves to sit on the counter helping us cook and using all of my great Pampered Chef tools in the Turn-About. She even says she wants to be a Chef'r when she grows up.

The picture of Anna shows her playing on the table at Full Moon! We met Nana for lunch and she immediately grabbed the menu (it's paper you know - she can't resist) and went to town "washing" the table. Good thing we had gotten a big table and that Nana was there to make sure she didn't wiggle off!

Toast is Yummy!

Anna had her first experience with Zwieback Toast on November 8th. She loved it and, of course, made a big mess! After she had finally wrestled it down to nothing, she stuck her thumb in her mouth from exhaustion and looked up at me with those big blues, begging for a bath to be freed from the gunk. She got one and so did the high chair and her clothes! It was fun though and we did manage to finish a meal while it was hot since she was preoccupied!

3-K Party

I was the "Pumpkin Patch Party Planner" for Molly Kate's 3-k Halloween party. How fun that I got to spend the afternoon with her and her friends at school! She talks about them all the time so it was nice to play with them and see how sweet they all are - I feel like I know them from her stories! She loves the fact that there are only 6 in her class - they seem to all be great friends! They went to the pumpkin patch to get a pumpkin, played duck-duck-goose (never my favorite - too slow for that one!), had lunch , went on a "bear hunt" and finally had their party! They do so much and have so much energy. No wonder she is always tired when I pick her up!

Carving the Jack-o-Lantern

This year Molly Kate asked to draw the face on the pumpkin and we let her! I admit that I was a little scared, but she did an awesome job!! No, we didn't help her. We did coach her to practice first on a sheet of paper (shown for comparison in last pic) but she free-handed AND cut out most of the face! She and Eric cut out the eyes and nose and I cute the mouth for her. I have to say she did a great job. As tradition, we called JACK across the street when we put the pumpkin out. She has her picture taken with "two jacks" each year and Mrs. Lara, his mommy, takes our family pic for us.

Trick-or-Treat!

First of all, let me explain the costumes. Since Anna is not opinionated yet, I got to pick her costume out. I got the cute flower from Children's Place and could just see her sweet smile in that pink bloom! After I bought it, Molly Kate decided, "If Anna is going to be a flower, I can be a farmer (sometimes she says gardener), take my watering can and water her!" Eric and I loved it immediately - she is so smart!! She wore old overalls that Mawmaw had kept from when Eric and Uncle Tod were babies - they fit perfectly! While she didn't really want to carry the watering can as much as she thought she would (candy bag was more important), they looked great and had lots of fun! My little flower wilted about halfway thru the neighborhood - just laid her head on my shoulder, stuck in her thumb and went to sleep! How sweet was that!
Here are some pics from the Fall Festival at church and Trick-or-Treating in our neighborhood.
